Award Winning Wines

Hocking Hills Winery is thrilled to announce that we now have TWO award winning wines!

Our Petite Sirah 2015 and our Trillium were awarded Bronze Medals at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition!

Both wines were crafted in the heart of the Hocking Hills by our CEO and Winemaker, Blaine Davidson.

Trillium is a unique blend of our 2016 Estate Grown Vidal Blanc and Estate Grown Traminette, harvested from our vineyard, and 2016 Riesling harvested from California’s Central Valley. This wine pairs perfectly with seafood or pastas with white sauce.

Petite Sirah was harvested in Lodi, California in the fall of 2015. This intensely colored wine offers savory notes of dark berries and roasted spices. Aging for 18 months on American oak creates a finish of vanilla and dark cocoa.

About the Competition:

The Finger Lakes International Wine Competition is the largest charitable wine competition in North America.

In 2018, there were 3,000 wines by 600 wineries from 16 countriesentered into the competition.

Wines are blind judged in flights, with each wine identified only by a computer-generated code number. Each wine is judged on its own merit - its presence, balance and varietal character - not by how it compares to other wines in the flight. All flights are staged in a separate back room and delivered to the judging room.
