Summer 2026 Wine Releases
Hocking Hills Winery Introduces Three New Red Wines
Hocking Hills Winery is excited to announce the release of three new wines, each offering a unique expression of craftsmanship, character, and flavor. From a bold Cabernet Sauvignon aged more than two and a half years to an Ohio-grown Double Gold winner, these additions showcase the diversity of our winemaking program and the vineyards that help bring each bottle to life.
2023 American Cabernet Sauvignon
Our newest Cabernet Sauvignon begins with fruit sourced from Washington State, known for producing rich, structured Cabernet grapes. This wine was aged for an impressive 31 months with French oak staves, allowing the tannins to soften while maintaining the structure and depth Cabernet lovers expect.
On the nose, you'll find aromas of plum, cigar box, and black currant. The palate delivers flavors of black cherry, red plum, chocolate, and bell pepper, creating a complex and balanced wine that pairs beautifully with marbled steaks, roasted root vegetables, and aged hard cheeses.
The 2023 American Cabernet Sauvignon was recently awarded a Bronze Medal at the 2026 Ohio Wine Competition.
Ash Cave Crimson
Named after one of the most iconic destinations in the Hocking Hills, Ash Cave Crimson is a Bordeaux-style blend crafted from Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.
The blend is anchored by Malbec, giving the wine a lush, fruit-forward character while still delivering the structure and complexity expected from classic Bordeaux varieties. Aromas of plum, cassis, and pencil shavings lead into flavors of black plum, dark cherry, sage, dark chocolate, and subtle savory notes.
Ash Cave Crimson is our boldest red wine currently available and is a natural pairing for smoked meats, brisket, rib-eye, venison, and other grilled favorites.
The wine showcases fruit sourced from both Washington State and Ohio vineyards, highlighting the best qualities of each growing region.
Ohio Cedar Falls Scarlet
Ohio Cedar Falls Scarlet celebrates the incredible diversity of Ohio-grown grapes. This non-vintage semi-sweet blend combines Frontenac, DeChaunac, Marquette, Maréchal Foch, Petite Pearl, and a small amount of California Zinfandel.
The result is a fruit-forward wine with aromas of blackberry, cocoa, and preserves, followed by flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, grape soda, and chocolate. The addition of Zinfandel helps balance acidity while enhancing the wine's rich, jammy character.
Made with 97% Ohio-grown fruit, Cedar Falls Scarlet recently earned a Double Gold Medal at the 2026 Ohio Wine Competition, further demonstrating the quality and potential of Ohio-grown wines.
This versatile wine pairs well with barbecue, Cajun dishes, Asian cuisine, and even Hawaiian pizza.
